There are no words to describe this fantastic theater. I traveling a lot of around the world, but I think this is the best I the world. So luxury and wiht a perfect sound. Nothing that I can say it would be enough. You must visit it and watch some shows.

The Teatro Colón (Spanish: Columbus Theatre) is the main opera house in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is considered one of the ten best opera houses in the world by National Geographic, and is acoustically considered to be amongst the five best concert venues in the world. The present Colón replaced an original theatre which opened in 1857. Towards the end of the century it became clear that a new theatre was needed and, after a 20-year process, the present theatre opened on 25 May 1908, with Giuseppe Verdi's Aïda. The Teatro Colón was visited by the foremost singers and opera companies of the time, who would sometimes go on to other cities including Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. After this period of huge international success, the theatre's decline became clear and plans were made for massive renovations. After an initial start of works to restore the landmark in 2005, the theatre was closed for refurbishment from October 2006 to May 2010. It re-opened on 24 May 2010, with a programme for the 2010 season. The Colón theater operated in two buildings, the first located in the Plaza de Mayo until 1888 and the second located in front of the Plaza Lavalle, which took 20 years to be built until its inauguration in 1908. This land formerly housed the Park Station, the first railway station of the Argentine Republic as head of the Western Railway of Buenos Aires.

My favourite part of the Tour has to be sitting in the empty theatre venue.

A MUST SEE! Tickets are quite expensive but worth it. The interior has been inspired by Versailles as I understood right. Anyway an incredibly beautiful building inside and outside.
This is one of the most beautiful opera houses that I’ve been to in the world. I’ve been to about four of the top 10. I would have to say that this is my number one favorite. It has so much art and beauty. The architecture is phenomenal. It is influenced by multiple countries. The stories behind the opera house are wonderful. They have Spanish-speaking tours every 15 minutes. I did the 2 PM English tour. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. This is a must see if you are in Buenos Aires!!! Pictures do not do justice. Absolutely beautiful!
We visited the Teatro Colon 14 years ago and took a tour of the building, which was fabulous. It was about to be restored and there were no shows for a number of years - seven I believe. And so, we waited. We returned in December 2018 and again took the tour (very different, but still fabulous, this time) and we went to a show there. The ballet of Tchaikovsky's 'Nutcracker Suite', which was sublime. Plainish on the outside, it simply splendid on the inside. Take the tour of course, but see a show if you can. Book before you arrive in Argentina if you can, but if not - DO visit the theatre and you will probably be able to book standing room in the gods, which is a great place to admire the interior from - and only costs about 5. Absolutely unforgettable - not to be missed. Really six stars!
I've been there 4 times so far and I love it. It's considered one of the best theaters in the world so is it because I've been at the top for both concert and opera, and the acoustic is just stunning. I go there every time I can. I try not to miss any free concert, I think we should take advantage of that so we'd also be supporting the artists this way.
