Small bus picks you up at the hotel, takes you to a viewing point of the Perito Moreno Glacier (an hour is spent here), and then continue to the port for taking the "Catamarán" for crossing the lake to the other side of the reserve, for then talking a walk over the ice in the Glacier. You can pay extra for a small lunch having a sandwich (chicken or vegan), banana, water bottle and cereal bar. Worth it. Small groups of 14 people are taken together in the mini bus. Some insight on the Glacier, flora and fauna in the area are provided too. This is a great excursion.

I did not need a tour just advise - the ATM's in the city had not more cash and we needed to somehow pay for the Glaciares national park entrance. It says a lot how a simple walk-in is handled - we got the help no other place in Calafate could provide. A lady told us of the website we can pay with a card in advance and helped when my Spanish was not enough. She practically saved our trip to Perito Moreno! I am sorry I did not ask for her name. But we are very grateful.
