Absolutely the highlight of our trip to Mendoza. We’d had the Tikal label wines in the US which sparked the visit and it was a joy to learn about the other labels and taste them. Manuel taught us all about biodynamic farming and made us feel like we’re at a friends home that just happened to be a stunning vineyard and farm with exceptional food and even better wine. Deciding to do the Guided Tourism experience was one of the best decisions we made on our trip. I would consider this place a must see in your trip to Mendoza. I guarantee it will be unlike any wine tasting or vineyard visit you’ve ever done. I’m honestly not sure how any other wine tasting experience can top it!

Exceptional Day! The one place I really wanted to visit while in Mendoza was the Ernesto Catena Vineyards. Tikal was my first introduction to Malbec a number of years ago and remains one of my favourite wines. I emailed for reservations and Manu was very responsive. He outlined our options and dates available. We really wanted to do the day at the farm but we were only two however, even though it is supposed to be a minimum of four, they graciously accommodated us. We were greeted by Manu with glasses of their sparkling rose which was fresh and delicious. We then snacked on homemade bread and freshly grilled chorizo and blood sausage. Next up was a tour of the farm. It was fascinating to learn all about the organic processes used at the vineyard. They also make biodynamic wines which incorporate not only organic growing practices but also follows a planting calendar that depends upon astronomical configurations. After the tour we enjoyed a delicious lunch of pork, steak, salads and grilled vegetables. Paired along with lunch was a selection of wines from the Animal, Tikal and Siesta lines. Everything was incredible! This was the last wine tour we did in the three weeks in Argentina and we certainly saved the best for last! Excellent food, wine and company!

The setting, the food, the hospitality and, of course, the wine - it couldn't have been any better. A truly memorable experience in a truly memorable place.
