Good for kids
The view is amazing. Good for chilling while basking in the sun and enjoying the view. Bring coats if you're going after 3 pm because it's windy and the temperature really goes down!

A bad restored (not preserved) archeological site, very important city in the Inca empire. Restoration wasn't faithful to the original layout which in my opinion lessens value. Still a must go when in Tilcara as it gives an idea of what it was in its golden years.
Historical area located in Tilcara. The place is one inhabited by indigenous people and the first traces of humans are about 10'000 years old. It has a very interesting museum and a botanical garden. The ruins can be visited every day and the visit is done walking. A monument to some of the anthropologs that studied the ruins is to be found in the ruins.
Gives a great view of tilcara! You also have access to the botanical gardens. If you go on Monday its donation only :)
Magnificent place, full of history! Landscapes are breathtaking, if you are around this area, it’s definitely worth it.
Archeological site, partly reconstructed, overtaken by a forest of cardòns. Little documentation on the site, and you are left wondering. Of course, the view alone grants a visit. Nice little high altitude botanical garden at the base. All in all, worth a visit if you're in the area.
Good place to visit and learn about the indigenous cultures
Impressive ruins of an ancient local Inca capital. Most of it has not been restored yet but a few of the houses were restored and give a good idea of the construction that was used. You can walk through the ruins by yourself but I advise you to take the guided tour (45) as well which provides a lot of interesting facts.
