A nice place with very nice baked goods. Nice environment and great ambient music. But it is rather busy and the staff are just running around. Almost impossible to catch them. So from 5 to 3 because of this.

Breakfast, baking goods were not bad at all. However, the service could be better, as the waiters were so busy, they just ran around and not really paying attentions to their customers.

Great atmosphere and music, great place to people watch. We enjoyed the tartines (110 each) and the house wine (90) all very tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. The place has a bar, restaurant and cafe, with plenty of very good sounding and looking options. Will come back to try the coffee. Our favorite options were the parma and fig, cheese and carrot jam and tuna tartines.

Great little French bakery inside a great little market. Sandwiches were excellent and made with freshly baked bread, which is as authentically French as I've had outside France itself (i.e. chewy and crispy). You can watch the chef making the fillings as well so you know it's fresh produce. Excellent lunch spot before or after perusing around some antiques :)

Great and cozy place located at the Mercado de San Telmo. Excellent service with wonderful French pastries, very good coffee and fruit shakes to name a few of its great menu. Merci is a must if you are visiting this picturesque area in Buenos Aires.

Located inside the bustling San Telmo Market, Merci has a distinctively French flair (if you couldn't already tell from the name). Freshly-baked breads, pastries, and tartines (open-faced sandwiches) line the counter, but there are also a good number of tables with waiter service and a full menu! For a casual lunch in the market, I tried the Ensalada Merci, a simple mixture of sautéed seasonal vegetables: green beans, broccoli, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes, all topped off with melting slices of brie cheese and shelled almonds! While this dish doesn't sound like much, it was surprisingly flavorful, and I especially loved the salty touch of the brie, the crunch of the almonds, and the umami of the cherry tomatoes! I also tried the Croque Argentino, a huge sandwich consisting of two slices of bread filled with beef, peppers, and onions. The hunk of beef had actually been stewed, so it was fall-apart tender and so umami and flavorful! My guess is that this was the same beef used in their beef bourguignon tartine, but left whole rather than shredded. This was certainly different from a typical Argentinian grill preparation, but so tasty nonetheless!
