Couldn't miss this one if you're out on a "shore leave" from the container terminal and want to shop or eat ! A place where you can shop for goods to take back home, enjoy the architecture on whole, take a few pics for the sake of memories and have something to eat. It's not very far from the port and you could easily get here using a bus or by taking a cab.

We visited this gallery shop twice, it's very nice located and easy to find in Microcentro. A beautiful spot to sit for a quick launch or dinner.

Galerías Pacífico is a shopping centre in Buenos Aires, Argentina, located at the intersection of Florida Street and Córdoba Avenue. The Beaux Arts building was designed by the architects Emilio Agrelo and Roland Le Vacher in 1889 to accommodate a shop called the Argentine Bon Marché, modelled on the Le Bon Marché in Paris. In 1896 part of the building was transformed into the first home for the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and in 1908 the British-owned Buenos Aires and Pacific railway company acquired part of the building for offices. The company's name derived from the fact that its intention was to operate a train service linking Buenos Aires and Valparaíso in Chile, thereby giving access to the Pacific Ocean. From that time onwards the building became known as Edificio Pacífico. In 1987, a film crew uncovered an abandoned torture center in the basement of the building that had been used during the Dirty War.

You must visit Galerías. An amazing shopping mall! It originally was the exquisite Beaux Arts Building, later it was transformed into the first home for the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. In 1908 the British-owned Buenos Aires and Pacific railway company acquired part of the building for offices and they preserve the beautifull paints and magnificent arquitecture.

When the Lacoste store at Recoleta didn't have my size they phoned and the Galerias Pacifico did so we headed over there. Not only did they have my size but their WiFi actually works whereas at Recoleta they promise to send a confirmation email to get connected but it never arrives. Plus this mall is directly adjacent to Florida, the main drag for big banks but even more important: black- and blue-market cash exchange where you can get upwards of 3-4 times the official rate changing USD.
