Tierra del Fuego, Argentina

The El Fin del Monde Tren in Tierra Del Fuego National Park is a nice experience. It is a short and slow trip but fun and interesting if you enjoy riding trains. Great mountain scenery and good commentary about the area during the trip.

This place is lovely. You have a great view in front of the Chile's mountain. The water is so fresh and sweet.
Lovely introduction to Tierra del Fuego National Park. It is located about 12km from the centre of Ushuaia so you will need to have a car or take a remis (taxi style) which was 400 argentine pesos each way per car to/from main station. The trains are pulled by old steam engines, and narrate the story of the train and the prison at the end of the world. Tourist class was busy on this occasion but it was comfortable and fine. At the end of the line (only portable toilets available) we did an easy walk of about 4km return to the post office port in Ensenada Zaratiegui with lovely views of the Beagle Channel (the footpath goes parallel to the road but in the forest). We did used a later train to return to the start of the line and on the way back it was quieter as most tourists do use it only one way. The staff was very friendly and the coffee and cheese bread at the main train station (the ticket office start/end) were perfect after a nice half day of exploring the park.
A lot of history in the area told in your language on headphones. A great day out.
Good place to take pictures of the historical train.
Beautiful place.
Nice little railway through the forest
