We had the Easter Week dinner menu and it was truly fantastic. Our entrees were unique and interesting (my favorite was definitely the empanadas) but it was the main that truly blew us away with deliciously fresh fish. Great wine pairing, too. Will definitely come back for a second try.

Incredible experience. Loved the crocodile dumplings, raw llama salad, and rhea stew. All meats that were new to me but very well executed. Bravo!

Magnificent meal, a tasting menu worthy a Michelin star, or at least an honorably mention! Their use of national produce and wine is admirable, and result in exciting and innovative dishes. Well worth a trip!

The best restaurant dining experience I had in Argentina. The tasting menu with wine pairing is top shelf. The dishes are complex and creative while all being sourced from local Argentinian ingredients. The staff is very knowledgeable on the dishes and the wines being paired with each course. Highly recommend trying one of the top 50 Latin American restaurants.

Would not recommend or come back. I think the real chef was not there. They basically nick dishes from various cuisines with poor to mediocre executions and attempt to differentiate by adding poorly thought out ‘twists’, which often undermine the original dish instead of elevating it. Wish the restaurant would focus on the taste instead of theatrics. First course Asian trio, bad start. Fish tempura was alright but nothing special, the bao and the dumpling were downright horrible, pão was dry with a bizarre mustard sauce, dumpling was greasy and alligator meat added nothing. Worse than random cheap Chinese delivery food. Lamar tartar was nothing special, nice presentation but the sauce was unsophisticated. Third course copied baba Ghanoush and the added yogurt sauce was again rough. Fourth course was basically hummus with Quinoa which brought nothing to the dish. Fifth dish had a nice melon sorbert, with smoker Lamar and cucumber, the parts were ok but the sum doesn’t come together. The chef has to understand creating a new dish is more than throwing random things together. None of the ‘creativities’ worked, I wish the chef would stop ruining creations of others. Sixth dish with duck confit was not bad, duck was well cooked, although the three way yuka was totally unnecessary, especially the fermented one ruined the duck. Seventh dish with small bird was probably my favourite, but honestly nothing special. The dessert was again disastrous, apart from the dramatic presentation, the composition of the dish was not coherent, it just doesn’t come together.

Best tasting menu in Buenos Aires. Little pricy tho. The place is small, so it’s good to have a reservation. /5

First thing to know about El Baqueano is that you should immediately book a reservation. This place is billed as one of the Top 50 restaurants in Latin America. Hands down it is in the top 10. The flavor combinations and wine pairings are out of this world good. Next is the staff which makes you feel at home throughout the entire evening. We greatly enjoyed and highly recommend asking for Pia who speaks perfect English (American vernacular) and can converse with you on any subject. Needless to say she explains each course with flair and aplomb. Finally - given the overall quality these fine people are undercharging for every meal they serve. Get there quickly before they figure that out!!

I visited for a birthday celebration and was blown away by the food and service. Above and beyond what I expected. There were some interesting dishes and meats and it was an incredible experience that will not be forgotten anytime soon! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a unique dining experience in BA.
