The Historical Museum of the Prefecture is located in a large house on 1264 Liniers Street, Tigre (CP 1648), Prov. Of Buenos Aires. They open daily, but it's best to call ahead to the 4749-6161 to be sure. I really advise a visit to this little known Museum in general. There is one room after another full of surprises, stories, objects that leave you amazed. A person interested in the subject may be hours, especially because it is a quiet place and those responsible take their time to respond patiently to each and every question and know what they are talking about! There are several rooms: - A brief historical review; institutional history; Iconography; Breakdown and fire control, rescue and diving, communications; Uniforms; You love and explosives; Police Room; Navigation-Aviation and Nautical and Ports Hall. With this you can realize the amount of information there is.

Me encantó está visita guiada por varias razones: las maquetas de modelismo naval artesanales y muy detallistas; los cuadros con pinturas de naves al óleo y las que Quinquela Martín donó; los distintos sectores en la que se organiza la muestra; el Homenaje a los Héroes de Malvinas Argentinas; los trajes y uniformes; la historia que detallaron los guías, que al ser profesor de Historia y de Prefectura naval contaban con pasión la historia de la fuerza. El museo fue inaugurado el 25 de Octubre de 1985, y me llamó la atención que fuera tan reciente, pregunté a los guías y la fecha de los orígenes de la fuerza datan del 1700/1800... Anterior al primer gobierno Patrio. Creo que poder conocer y apreciar sobre los orígenes y la historia de pueblos, instituciones o fuerzas hacen al reconocimiento de lo que cada cual aporta a la sociedad desde su lugar.
