One of the most attractively located visitor centres I have been to. Situated by the side of a lake and surrounded by high peaks in the centre of the national Park of Terra del Fuego. A good food stop and rest rooms with a gift and souvenir shop inside. The gifts are of a higher quality then usually seen and appear to be mostly locally made Definitely worth the stop

Surprisingly reasonable prices for such a touristic place! The food was good and the place was clean. The service is efficient but dry because the place gets crazy busy! They also have a good mini-museum/gallery room showing pre-European life of the indigenous groups in Tierrra Del Fuego (killed to extinction by Europeans, as usual!)
The Visitorcenter was realy good and we could store our luggage in a corner so we could do the sendero guanaco without the heavy stuff. :) Skip the restaurant.. or at least the potato quiche. It was dry like a desert, with old fat French Fries.. who does Frensh Fries in a Quiche??? It was disgusting. Some other guest had a meal of the Menu. For us the kitchen was closed... unfriendly Stuff. Enjoy the wunderful Nature around this Place and skip the Restaurant.
A lot of great little items in the gift shop and incredibly good empanadas at their little restaurant. It was a wonderful treat after hiking for the day.
When you finish hiking got a cup of coffee in Alakush is so sweet!!
