It is interesting to see this network of tunnels built to preserve the vestiges of original settlement around this small creek. But the story behind the restoration of the 1830's house above and the condition under which the original settlers lived back as far as the 1500's was the highlight for me. Our guide was excellent and told the story with alot of passion. The owner (still alive at 80 yo) must have invested millions in this project without ever hoping to get this money back just for the love of this city and giving something back to it's people. Foreigner entry fee is 500.

I'm so impressed with the museum and the whole story of its beginning. We walked in for a tour and because it wasn't busy, we were able to explore the place in peace and quiet atmosphere. The quality of renovations, the dedication of the owner, his passion for the place - hats off! One of the highlights of our stay in BA.
This a historic building that was painstakingly restored by a private individual. It is a hidden gem because it is not advertised by the city's tourist office. They have frecuent tours throughout the day with very knowledgeable guides. The admission is very inexpensive at only 2.50 per person.
The best about this place is that you walk out with a pleasant knowledge that there are people with money who invest in this sort of historical restoration project. The place is beautiful and our guide was knowledgeable. All in all, an hour well spent!
Awesome place to learn about the past of the city and society, I think the tour would have to last a little longer so people can really engage into the magnificent restorative work found here
It's a very good place to visit. A museum and it's good. It's a series of old tunnels, sewers and cisterns (built from 1730 onwards) were constructed above a river tributary and provided the base for one of BA’s oldest settlements, which later became a family mansion and then tenement housing and shops.
A beautifully restored house with lots of recent archeological finds (1800). This is definitely worth visiting. A little hidden gem!
_Very_ interesting. Incorporates a lot of city history from the days when water was delivered to houses in barrels on wagons pulled by oxen, to more recent times when larger houses were subdivided into tenements with workshops on the ground level. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. The area around it is also worthwhile with interesting shops and nice places to have lunch.
