While visiting Buenos Aires and staying in the Recoleta area, I found a haven away from all the city's meat and pizza and empanada dishes that are great to eat, but also hard to avoid. Kabob House is small oasis of earth-grown food where you can get a a great no-meat wrap, some tabouli and hummus. (They also offer meat.wraps, of course.) Honest, you're going to need a break from the heavy cow and carb fare that Argentines breathe in like air. KH is just a small, store-front shop that you'll miss if you're not careful. It's right across the street from the Recoleta Mall and the cemetery. All the food is home made and can be purchased for take-out in small tubs. The wrap is light and the vegetarian version of it is way reasonably priced. A large wrap cost 180 pesos in October of 2018, which worked out to be 4.73. These guys take pride in their product and seem to have a loyal following of locals who drop by and hang out with them, which was a good sign for me. Real sincere and earnest is the impression I got. I ate there every other day I was there. It was the only eatery I kept returning to.
