I had high hopes after reading the reviews. I'll give it another chance, but my first time was profoundly mediocre. The cheesecake was actually quite poor, despite looking good. The coffee was fine and the service was good as others have stated. I'll update if I try something else later Edit: tried more things and they were excellent!! Sandwiches and alfajores! Five stars now!

This became my go to for food in El Calafate. The bakery has excellent hours. Please eat the chicken empanadas and unglazed croissants. Super inexpensive and delicious. There is a further discount if you get them to go. We also grabbed cookies and the pillow tropic sandwich (lettuce, tomato, avocado and chicken) for our trip to El Chalten and it lasted us two days no refrigeration needed. There is also a large dining area if you want table service. We were also able to pay with USD and get a great exchange rate.

Delicious pastries, empanadas, chocolates, breads and coffee. There is an area with tables where you can order pastry or lunch. This is a busy place and a lot is expected of the staff. We will go there every day we are in El Calafate. Delicious!

The food was pretty good! But we saw the server clean the windows with the same towel used to clean the spatula used to serve desserts! We didn’t get good service here.

The bakery is huge and have a wide variety of products. Overall quality is good but churros were extremely oily and tasted bad, so I don't recommend anything fried there. You can buy lunch kits for your tours here. The price is reasonable and staff is friendly and efficient.
